Day Sixty-Three: 63/366

Day Sixty-Three: Looking out the window at the shack my sister spotted this little guy in the backyard. Travis went outside to take some photos, and even when he got close this little guy didn't seem to mind.

Day Sixty-Two: 62/366

Day Sixty-Two: We are away for the weekend at a shack near the beach with my parents and sister. Here we have my Dad (Poppa to the kids) reading a story to Adele. She was loving it, and then when she saw me bring out the camera she did this - such a poser!

Day Sixty-One: 61/366

Day Sixty-One: My photos have all been of Adele recently, so I made a conscious effort to take one of Oliver today. As you can see, he takes his television viewing very seriously.
(and on an unrelated note - Adele crawled today!!!)

Day Sixty: 60/366

Day Sixty: Wow, sixty days into 2012 already?! Here is one of Adele rolling around on the floor while I played around with the camera. I had a lot of photos to choose from, but most didn't come out very well: trying to get the hang of balancing out the ISO and shutter speed...

Day Fifty-Nine: 59/366

Day Fifty-Nine: So, after a few weeks not making a proper effort to take photos for my 366 project, I'm back. I'm aiming to take most of my photos on the manual setting - like this one!

Day Fifty-Eight: 58/366

Day Fifty-Eight: It was very muggy here today - and I can always tell when it's muggy because Adele's hair gets like this. I love love love her curls!

Day Fifty-Seven: 57/366

Day Fifty-Seven: I went to a sling meet today and ate way too much cob loaf dip (nom nom nom). Not a big turn out, but I still love going to talk babywearing and other 'hippy' stuff with like-minded mums.

Day Fifty-Six: 56/366

Day Fifty-Six: Flowers for a beautiful woman going through a hard time.

Day Fifty-Five: 55/366

Day Fifty-Five: Again, no photos taken for my project, but I did have this photo on my phone. Adele is wearing one my op shop finds.

Day Fifty-Four: 54/366

Day Fifty-Four: *sigh* What can I say. I love this beautiful girl more and more every day.

Day Fifty-Three: 53/366

Day Fifty-Three: I've been going for lots of walks with the kids recently - trying to lose weight and all that. This morning I went for a long walk to one of the nicer playgrounds in our area. Oliver got out and had a play while Adele watched and I had a quick snack.

Day Fifty-Two: 52/366

Day Fifty-Two: I went to my first ever ABA meeting this morning - it was great! Afterwards I was going to meet my mum for lunch, but these shoes caught my eye! They were on sale and I've been after new shoes for a while. I really like them, and they're comfortable and easy to get on and off (must have for a mum!). It was nice to buy something for myself for a change.

Day Fifty-One: 51/366

Day Fifty-One: After cleaning Adele up after breakfast I stood her on the table to clean her legs (yup, food gets everywhere!). Later on I realised there was a footprint left behind, so took a quick photo.

Day Fifty: 50/366

Day Fifty: We found out earlier this week (on facebook actually) that my brother Daniel is engaged. We had a small party/barbecue today to celebrate and I was given cake duty... I made a double layer mud cake, covered in ganache - it was so yummy... however I could have done with a lot more practice with the can of frosting I used to do the writing. Still, it's the thought that counts right :)

Day Forty-Nine: 49/366

Day Forty-Nine: I've been so slack taking photos recently - this is the only one I had for today: a blurry shot of Oliver with a scratch under one eye. Absolutely no idea what he did.

Day Forty-Eight: 48/366

Day Forty-Eight: Just a nice one of Oliver and Adele rolling around together on the floor.

Day Forty-Seven: 47/366

Day Forty-Seven: It was a hot one today, so my friend Alice and I took the kids to the Gorge. The Gorge has certainly gotten a workout this summer from us! We had a walk around first (note to self, those hills are steep especially when pushing two kids in the pram), then stopped at the kiosk and Oliver had an icy pole. He was most impressed and devoured the whole thing before it had time to melt! Then we had a nice swim. I'm really enjoying summer this year.

Day Forty-Six: 46/366

Day Forty-Six: I forgot to take a photo today... so here's an old favourite of mine. Travis and I many, many years ago. I think we were probably both about 20.

Day Forty-Five: 45/366

Day Forty-Five: After the kids go to bed, this is what I do... cycle, cycle, cycle. I'm going to shift this weight finally, and be the healthy mama I want to be.

Day Forty-Four: 44/366

Day Forty-Four: My baby boy Oliver is three today! He's growing up much too fast. He had his party yesterday, so today was actually fairly quiet. He had a play with his friend Josie in the morning, and in the afternoon Travis came home early and they watched Cars 2 together. We started off the day with more presents though - here Oliver is in the middle of all the present-opening madness. Spoilt much!

Day Forty-Three: 43/366

Day Forty-Three: It was Oliver's birthday party today at Punchbowl. It was family, a few friends and a few of Oliver's little friends. He got spoilt rotten with presents, fed the ducks, ate robot cake... all in all it was a fun day. His actual birthday is tomorrow - I can't believe my baby boy is three already!

Day Forty-Two: 42/366

Day Forty-Two: Oliver's birthday party is tomorrow, so I have been in preparation mode. He picked a robot cake out of the cake book we have - here is the cake cut out and ready to be iced in the morning. Let's hope it turns out okay!

Day Forty-One: 41/366

Day Forty-One: Just a quick pic from my phone of the kids rolling around on the floor. I love how they're really starting to play with one another - it is beautiful to watch, such a privilege.

Day Forty - 40/366

Day Forty: As you can probably tell, I've not been feeling overly inspired recently. Here is another uninspired photo taken from my phone of my glass of water...

Day Thirty-Nine - 39/366

Day Thirty-Nine: We got out of the house today (thank goodness) and went to our local sling meet. I tried on this pretty ring sling with Adele - so lovely and comfortable. I definitely need practice putting it on though.

Day Thirty-Eight - 38/366

Day Thirty-Eight: I actually forgot to take a photo for this day, but then looking back through I realised I took photos of some nappies I am selling... So, um, here's a pic of one of my nappies!

Day Thirty-Seven - 37/366

Day Thirty-Seven: Adele is getting so close to crawling. So many times during the day I think "she's going to just take off", but so far nothing. Not that she doesn't get around mind you - she can roll and go backwards and turn in a circle - enough to get into mischief.

Day Thirty-Six - 36/366

Day Thirty-Six: We spent a night away this weekend. I had a baby shower to go to, and we had a few people to visit that we hadn't seen in over a year. It was a big couple of days for the kids - so much so that even Oliver (who never sleeps in the car) actually fell asleep in the car.

Day Thirty-Five - 35/366

Day Thirty-Five: Last night I went to bed around 11.30pm. I was just drifting off to sleep when Adele woke. This isn't unusual - she usually has a quick feed and then we both go back to sleep. Not last night though - last night she woke up properly and just would not go back to sleep. I tried everything. At 4am, exhausted and completely wrecked I woke Travis and he took her for a drive in the hopes it would get her off to sleep. It did, so we all got some sleep then. Four hours is better than nothing. I am very thankful for concealer this morning.

Day Thirty-Four - 34/366

Day Thirty-Four: I've been a bit slack taking photos recently, but here is one I snapped of Adele today. She's such a cutie-pie, I just want to smoosh her!

Day Thirty-Three - 33/366

Day Thirty-Three: A pic of the little miss grumpy pants in the carrier. I love my carrier(s) - they're my fall back when nothing else is working.

Day Thirty-Two - 32/366

Day Thirty-Two: I hadn't taken a photo for today by the evening, but as I went outside I noticed these very dark clouds. It looks like my washing might be getting a second rinse!

Day Thirty-One - 31/366

Day Thirty-One: Today I finally started playing with our camera on the manual setting. After lots of and lots of photos - changing the iso, exposure times and playing with the manual focus... I started taking some okay photos near the end. Here is one (slightly overexposed) photo of my baby girl.

Day Thirty - 30/366

Day Thirty: Who can resist those tiny, chubby baby hands and feet? So soft, so squishy, so perfect.

Day Twenty-Nine - 29/366

Day Twenty-Nine: Not feeling very inspired today - but here is a pic of my gorgeous baby girl. I love how her personality is slowly starting to emerge. We have a cheeky little charmer on our hands I think!

Day Twenty-Eight - 28/366

Day Twenty-Eight: The kidlets have been making life a bit harder than usual recently. Oliver is in the process of dropping his day sleep which leaves him a bit emotional, and Adele has learnt how to whinge... I needed a break. I had a cinema voucher left over from my birthday so I asked my sister if she wanted to go to the movies with me. We saw The Muppets. It was great. Nice, light, fluffy - just what I needed.
And what movie is complete without popcorn!

Day Twenty-Seven - 27/366

Day Twenty-Seven: As a bit of a treat on a warm summer day, I made 'Fruity Dream' in the thermomix: sugar, frozen berries and egg white. It is so unbelievably delicious - you'd swear you were eating gourmet ice cream. Yes, it does taste as good as it looks!

Day Twenty-Six - 26/366

Day Twenty-Six: Today we went to the beach, then had a late barbecue lunch. It was a perfect day for it. The water was beautiful and clear and blue. It was warm with a refreshing breeze. Just beautiful. I spotted this gum tree across the road from where we had lunch, and I thought it was a perfect representation of this great land I am proud to call home.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Day Twenty-Five - 25/366

Day Twenty-Five: I asked Oliver to read Adele a book, as she was being a little miss cranky-pants. I thought it might make for a nice photo :)

Day Twenty-Four - 24/366

Day Twenty-Four: It was a hot one here today, so I headed to the Gorge with the kidlets and my sister for a swim. Oliver was all set to go with his duck floaties, and Adele enjoyed her second ever dip in a swimming pool. The water was much warmer than the last time we were there, so it was a pleasant swim.
After our swim we sat in the shade of a tree and at our grapes, blueberries, strawberries and biscuits. While we did that I did my best to take a photo since I hadn't taken one for today yet. I love this one of Adele - she's looking up at me and I love the look on her face.

Day Twenty-Three - 23/366

Day Twenty-Three: I headed into town this morning with the kids and my sister with the sole purpose of buying Oliver some much needed new shoes. Three hours later and many $ less, we headed home with many bags of shopping. Oops.
Again, I didn't take any photos specifically for my project today, but I always seem to snap photos on my phone throughout the day. Here is one of Adele in her new shorts pulling her cheeky smile. Gorgeous bubba.

Day Twenty-Two - 22/366

Day Twenty-Two: I decided to make thick, fluffy pancakes for breakfast as a treat. I usually make crepes, so making the thick pancakes was a different process! Two was more then enough, especially after I covered it in icecream, syrup, whipped cream, blueberries and crushed peanuts! Mmm!

Day Twenty-One - 21/366

Day Twenty-One: Today Travis's dad and Sue were up visiting, and they took us to Tassie Zoo. We've been a few times, but it had been about a year since our last visit. Considering both kids were in need of a sleep, it was actually quite a pleasant trip. Thank goodness I took both the pram and the carrier though! The kids played musical carrier/prams all afternoon, but it kept them happy, and we all managed to have a good time. I snapped this pic of the gorgeous macaw they have near the front entrance. It was busy saying 'hello' and laughing and scraping it's beak along the metal frame of the cage. Such a beautiful bird.

Day Twenty - 20/366

Day Twenty: Just a slow, quiet day at home today. I didn't actually go about taking any photos for my project today, but I did take this pic on my phone at some point through the day - so at least I have a photo still!

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Day Nineteen - 19/366

Day Nineteen: With Oliver being looked after by my sister and Adele in bed, I had a few moments to get back to nature (or, you know, our garden) and test the macro setting on our camera.

Day Eighteen - 18/366

Day Eighteen: Today I went to my local sling meet and finally learnt how to do a back carry with my Beetlebums carrier. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It was so comfortable, and so nice to have my front free. Adele approved also - falling asleep not long after this photo was taken.

Day Seventeen - 17/366

Day Seventeen: There were so many photo opportunities today... We went to the Gorge for a friend's birthday and both the kids had a dip in the pool, then we had a lovely barbecue dinner at my parent's house. Instead of having to rush off home to give the kids a bath before bed, we instead filled a tub with water and the kidlets took turns having their bath in the backyard. Here we have Adele in all her chubby glory enjoying the water after a very warm day.

Day Sixteen - 16/366

Day Sixteen: Not feeling very inspired today, but I did snap this pic of Oliver on my phone. He was TV while waiting for his daddy to come home from work.

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Day Fifteen: 15/366

Day Fifteen: Adele has been cranky today, so I've been using my second best parenting tool (behind breastfeeding) and getting her to sleep in my carrier. I was about to get Adele in the carrier when Oliver said he wanted to get in, so for fun I strapped him on. He thought it was great, though he's much too tall for front-carrying with his head right in front of mine. I then really had to get Adele to sleep in the carrier, so Travis got our other carrier and Oliver got in that one.
I love this photo - Oliver loves his daddy so much, and I suspect the feeling is very much mutual. I love my boys.

Day Fourteen - 14/366

Day Fourteen: Our backyard has no shade for the majority of the day, so we bought a shade gazebo for our backyard. It's huge - it takes up almost a quarter of our backyard - but at least we now have a shaded space to play outside. I plopped Adele down on the blanket with some toys, Oliver ran around the backyard and kicked his ball, and I finally got around to doing some much needed gardening. We can hopefully anticipate many more days spent outside now.
