Day Thirty - 30/366

Day Thirty: Who can resist those tiny, chubby baby hands and feet? So soft, so squishy, so perfect.

Day Twenty-Nine - 29/366

Day Twenty-Nine: Not feeling very inspired today - but here is a pic of my gorgeous baby girl. I love how her personality is slowly starting to emerge. We have a cheeky little charmer on our hands I think!

Day Twenty-Eight - 28/366

Day Twenty-Eight: The kidlets have been making life a bit harder than usual recently. Oliver is in the process of dropping his day sleep which leaves him a bit emotional, and Adele has learnt how to whinge... I needed a break. I had a cinema voucher left over from my birthday so I asked my sister if she wanted to go to the movies with me. We saw The Muppets. It was great. Nice, light, fluffy - just what I needed.
And what movie is complete without popcorn!

Day Twenty-Seven - 27/366

Day Twenty-Seven: As a bit of a treat on a warm summer day, I made 'Fruity Dream' in the thermomix: sugar, frozen berries and egg white. It is so unbelievably delicious - you'd swear you were eating gourmet ice cream. Yes, it does taste as good as it looks!

Day Twenty-Six - 26/366

Day Twenty-Six: Today we went to the beach, then had a late barbecue lunch. It was a perfect day for it. The water was beautiful and clear and blue. It was warm with a refreshing breeze. Just beautiful. I spotted this gum tree across the road from where we had lunch, and I thought it was a perfect representation of this great land I am proud to call home.

Day Twenty-Five - 25/366

Day Twenty-Five: I asked Oliver to read Adele a book, as she was being a little miss cranky-pants. I thought it might make for a nice photo :)

Day Twenty-Four - 24/366

Day Twenty-Four: It was a hot one here today, so I headed to the Gorge with the kidlets and my sister for a swim. Oliver was all set to go with his duck floaties, and Adele enjoyed her second ever dip in a swimming pool. The water was much warmer than the last time we were there, so it was a pleasant swim.
After our swim we sat in the shade of a tree and at our grapes, blueberries, strawberries and biscuits. While we did that I did my best to take a photo since I hadn't taken one for today yet. I love this one of Adele - she's looking up at me and I love the look on her face.

Day Twenty-Three - 23/366

Day Twenty-Three: I headed into town this morning with the kids and my sister with the sole purpose of buying Oliver some much needed new shoes. Three hours later and many $ less, we headed home with many bags of shopping. Oops.
Again, I didn't take any photos specifically for my project today, but I always seem to snap photos on my phone throughout the day. Here is one of Adele in her new shorts pulling her cheeky smile. Gorgeous bubba.

Day Twenty-Two - 22/366

Day Twenty-Two: I decided to make thick, fluffy pancakes for breakfast as a treat. I usually make crepes, so making the thick pancakes was a different process! Two was more then enough, especially after I covered it in icecream, syrup, whipped cream, blueberries and crushed peanuts! Mmm!

Day Twenty-One - 21/366

Day Twenty-One: Today Travis's dad and Sue were up visiting, and they took us to Tassie Zoo. We've been a few times, but it had been about a year since our last visit. Considering both kids were in need of a sleep, it was actually quite a pleasant trip. Thank goodness I took both the pram and the carrier though! The kids played musical carrier/prams all afternoon, but it kept them happy, and we all managed to have a good time. I snapped this pic of the gorgeous macaw they have near the front entrance. It was busy saying 'hello' and laughing and scraping it's beak along the metal frame of the cage. Such a beautiful bird.

Day Twenty - 20/366

Day Twenty: Just a slow, quiet day at home today. I didn't actually go about taking any photos for my project today, but I did take this pic on my phone at some point through the day - so at least I have a photo still!

Day Nineteen - 19/366

Day Nineteen: With Oliver being looked after by my sister and Adele in bed, I had a few moments to get back to nature (or, you know, our garden) and test the macro setting on our camera.

Day Eighteen - 18/366

Day Eighteen: Today I went to my local sling meet and finally learnt how to do a back carry with my Beetlebums carrier. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It was so comfortable, and so nice to have my front free. Adele approved also - falling asleep not long after this photo was taken.

Day Seventeen - 17/366

Day Seventeen: There were so many photo opportunities today... We went to the Gorge for a friend's birthday and both the kids had a dip in the pool, then we had a lovely barbecue dinner at my parent's house. Instead of having to rush off home to give the kids a bath before bed, we instead filled a tub with water and the kidlets took turns having their bath in the backyard. Here we have Adele in all her chubby glory enjoying the water after a very warm day.

Day Sixteen - 16/366

Day Sixteen: Not feeling very inspired today, but I did snap this pic of Oliver on my phone. He was TV while waiting for his daddy to come home from work.

Day Fifteen: 15/366

Day Fifteen: Adele has been cranky today, so I've been using my second best parenting tool (behind breastfeeding) and getting her to sleep in my carrier. I was about to get Adele in the carrier when Oliver said he wanted to get in, so for fun I strapped him on. He thought it was great, though he's much too tall for front-carrying with his head right in front of mine. I then really had to get Adele to sleep in the carrier, so Travis got our other carrier and Oliver got in that one.
I love this photo - Oliver loves his daddy so much, and I suspect the feeling is very much mutual. I love my boys.

Day Fourteen - 14/366

Day Fourteen: Our backyard has no shade for the majority of the day, so we bought a shade gazebo for our backyard. It's huge - it takes up almost a quarter of our backyard - but at least we now have a shaded space to play outside. I plopped Adele down on the blanket with some toys, Oliver ran around the backyard and kicked his ball, and I finally got around to doing some much needed gardening. We can hopefully anticipate many more days spent outside now.

Day Thirteen - 13/366

Day Thirteen: My laptop died a couple of days ago, so I am a bit behind with my uploading. Also, our DSLR battery is dead and I am yet to recharge it. Luckily, I always have my phone handy, and luckily, it takes a fairly good photo.
So, here is my pic for day thirteen - a very messy Adele eating her banana and yogurt for lunch. She actually ate the whole bowl for the first time. Sure, a fair bit was on her, but most of it went in. Food must be so much fun when you're a baby!

Day Twelve - 12/366

Day Twelve: Fruit salad is all Oliver seems to talk about these days. His obsession with The Wiggles has been reignited after we bought The Wiggles SingStar game. He'd never watched the older songs before, but now he loves (and walks around the house singing) "Fruit Salad", "Hot Potato" and all those old classics.
We made pretend fruit salad yesterday with his wooden toy fruit, and again first thing this morning, so I decided to make real fruit salad for breakfast. Oliver was excited by the idea, but then proceeded to only eat the apple and strawberry... typical!
I love the colours of all the fruit. It was very yummy!

Day Eleven - 11/366

Day Eleven: My gorgeous almost three year old boy, Oliver. I love you little man (even though you seem to have dropped your day sleep which I also loved).
I love this shot - the lighting was great and the background of our garden through the window added a nice touch. Plus, it captures those big, deep brown eyes I love so much.

Day Ten - 10/366

Day Ten: We've been doing some small home improvements recently... new light fittings in the kitchen, hallway and lounge room, and - a new shelf. I wanted a shelf in the kitchen for my recipe books so that they were out in the open instead of tucked away in a drawer in the hopes it will inspire me to cook instead of opting to get takeaway. It's amazing how much one little shelf has transformed our poor outdated kitchen.

Day Eight - 8/366

Day Eight: It's been a quiet day at home today. I snapped this shot mucking around with the camera while holding onto Adele. I'm not very good at aiming the camera when I'm not looking through the viewfinder, but this snap was a happy accident.

Day Seven - 7/366

Day Seven: Today we met up with some friends at the Batman Bridge for a picnic lunch and a spot of fishing. Where we sat was right underneath the bridge - it's an amazing view looking up at the huge, solid man-made construction contrasting against the soft, natural surroundings of the trees and river.

Day Six - 6/366

Day Six: This morning I met up with my good friend Alice and we took the kidlets to Punchbowl Reserve to feed the ducks. Oliver got very excited throwing the bread to the ducks, and one very eager duck even came up and gave Oliver a gentle peck for more bread. After feeding the ducks we took a walk around the pond and spotted lots of fluffy ducklings - so cute!

Day Five - 5/366

Day Five: I decided to make Oliver a fruit kebab for breakfast today - he was most impressed! It also seemed like a good opportunity for a photo with the deep red of the strawberry against the clean white plate.

Day Four - 4/366

Day Four: Seeing as day two was a photo of Adele, it seems only fair to have my other gorgeous kidlet with his own photo. Here is my big brown-eyed boy Oliver. He's such an awesome little man, everyday he makes me so proud to be his mumma.

Day Three - 3/366

Day Three: We have an entry level DSLR (Canon 1000D), and I have been meaning to teach myself how to use it properly for a long time. For today's photo I decided to wait for the sun to set and take some photos outside playing with the exposure. This photo was taken using a 10 second long exposure - I was lucky enough to catch a car driving past to get this effect. Certainly not a professional photo by any means, but I'm looking forward to learning and playing!

Day Two - 2/366

Day Two: My beautiful baby girl Adele is 8 months old today. I can't believe how quickly she is growing up (or how heavy she is - 10.5kg!!!). My heart bursts with love for you every day gorgeous girl.

Day One - 1/366

Day One: We made the most of the public holiday and headed to the beach with my parents and sister. Oliver took some convincing to get into the water, but by the end Travis got him in and he loved it! My parents enjoyed the warm water, my sister complained about the cold wind, and I hung out with the grumpy Miss Adele.
